This Cookie Policy explains which cookies and similar technologies are used on the Taksim Santa Ottoman Hotel website, why they are used and how you can manage them. For general information on the processing of your personal data, see the KVKK Privacy Notice.
1. What is a cookie?
Cookies are small text files stored in your browser when you visit a website. The website can read this file on the next request and recognise you within the same session.
2. Our own cookies (first party)
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
otel_admin |
Strictly necessary, session cookie | On pages with forms (home page, contact, booking steps) it keeps the forms' security token and remembers the dates and rooms you select while booking. For staff logged in to the administration panel it carries the login session. It is sent only to this website and cannot be read by JavaScript (HttpOnly). | Until the browser is closed |
This cookie is necessary for the website to work; if it is blocked, the contact, newsletter and booking forms cannot be submitted.
Browser storage (localStorage)
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
otel_cerez_onay |
Stores your cookie choices (which categories you allow), the date of your choice and the policy version. When this policy is updated, the record becomes invalid and you are asked again. It is not sent to the server. | Until you clear your browser data |
3. Third-party content
Google Maps
The hotel's location is shown with Google Maps on the home page and the contact page. The map is loaded only if you allow the "Third-party content" category; otherwise an information box and a link that opens the location in Google Maps in a new tab are shown instead. When the map loads, Google may place its own cookies in your browser and receive your IP address and browser information. The names, durations and purposes of these cookies are determined by Google and may change. Details: Google cookie policy, Google privacy policy.
Google Analytics (not currently used)
No visitor statistics tool is currently used on the website. If Google Analytics is enabled in the future, analytics cookies named _ga and _ga_[ÖLÇÜM KİMLİĞİ] will be used and this section will be updated. Analytics is loaded only if you have allowed the "Analytics" category; when it is enabled, you will be asked for your cookie choice again.
Content delivery networks (CDN)
Some libraries used for the website's appearance and interactions are loaded from the services below. These services do not set cookies; however, because the files are requested directly by your browser, your IP address and browser information are transmitted to their servers abroad.
| Service | Files loaded |
|---|---|
| jsDelivr (cdn.jsdelivr.net) | Bootstrap style and script files, Bootstrap Icons |
| jQuery CDN (code.jquery.com) | jQuery, jQuery UI |
| cdnjs (cdnjs.cloudflare.com) | Magnific Popup (image gallery) |
HotelRunner booking engine
When online bookings are taken through HotelRunner, the "Check availability" button opens the booking engine operated by HotelRunner in a new tab. That page is not part of our website: when it opens, your browser connects directly to HotelRunner's servers, your IP address and browser information are transmitted to HotelRunner, and HotelRunner may use its own cookies. The names, durations and purposes of these cookies are determined by HotelRunner; for details, see the privacy and cookie policy on the booking page. Your cookie choices on our website do not apply to HotelRunner's page.
WhatsApp and Instagram
The WhatsApp and Instagram links on the website are plain links; unless you click them, these platforms do not set cookies through our website. When you click a link, that platform's own cookie and privacy policy applies.
4. How can you manage cookies?
When you first visit the website, the notice lets you choose "Accept all" or "Necessary only". "Accept all" allows the Analytics and Third-party content categories together; with "Necessary only", only the Strictly necessary cookies, which cannot be switched off, are used. If you want to see the map, you can allow only the Third-party content category with the "Allow and show map" button in the map area.
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of the page. When you withdraw a permission, the page reloads and the related content is no longer loaded; when you withdraw the Analytics permission, our website's Google Analytics cookies are also deleted.
You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block the necessary session cookie, the forms will not work.
